Family Therapy

What does family therapy look like?

Typically, when a child is 12 years old and under, I have found it is most effective to include primary caregivers in the therapeutic process. There may be a combination of child-only, caregiver-only and joint sessions. This model makes the most of our time together as we will be exploring family culture, dynamics and systems that can be affecting the overall member relationships.

Teen and adolescent treatment will be specifically designed to the individual needs. Because a large basis of my therapeutic approach includes family systems, we will determine if it is best to include the caregiver in ongoing sessions, child-only, caregiver-only and joint sessions
